Chris

R. Christopher Bouton, P.T., Dip. MDT

In 1987, I graduated from RFA and that fall started at Canisius Collge. I earned a BA in biochemistry and went on to the SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse and received a BS in Physical Therapy. I began my career in Rome with Tom Wick Physical Therapy and was later employed as Senior Physical Therapist at Chestnut Commons Physical Therapy.

During my career I also obtained a diploma in the McKenzie method of mechanical diagnosis and treatment. This is a rare honor and only a couple of hundred people in the country have this. It was a pleasure to have the privilege to study the McKenzie method for three months in the intensive program in Minnesota.

I opened the doors to Bouton Physical Therapy in April of 2001. Being a small business owner has proven to be a challenging, yet, exciting opportunity. I continue to look forward to offering my hometown community the best care possible.

Since 2001, we have grown the business to great proportions remodeling and expanding twice and growing our support staff to 15.

Bouton PT always welcomes new therapists to join our team; there is great potential to build a long and lasting career.

I reside in the town of Lee with my wife, Jessie and our sons, Cruz, Tino, and Maximo. In my free time you can find me boating, snowmobiling and spending as much time as possible with family and friends.

Erik

Eric Furbeck, MSPT, Cert. MDT

I've been with Bouton Physical Therapy since 2002. I came to Rome in 1998 with intentions of a short stay and I've been practicing here ever since. I was born and raised in Syracuse, graduated from Henninger High School and received my Master's from Ithaca College in 1998. Of course, Rome is now my home.

My experience in physical therapy includes acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, nursing home, home health, and outpatient orthopedic settings. I'm always furthering my clinical skills with continuing education.

When I'm not working, I'm trying to keep up with my daughters, Brynn and Amelia, and spending time with other family and friends — most of whom are now in this area. I am also active with church and enjoy snowboarding, mountain biking, and playing basketball.

Andrew

Andrew Gracey, MSPT, McKenzie certified, Orthotic Fitter

Andrew's list of professional interests and specialties includes spinal health and treatment, industrial/workers health and rehabilitation, and advanced sport-specific training of athletes of all ages.

Andrew spent the first half of his career with the surgical and rehabilitation team at Hamilton Orthopaedics Surgery & Sports Medicine, where he also assisted in Dr. Ivan Gowan's on-going orthopedic research. He then took a two year sabbatical from patient care and worked as full-time Clinical Consultant to the rehab industry and Continuing Education instructor throughout the Northeast. Having now returned to patient care, Andrew is very pleased to be working with the team at Bouton P.T., a practice he has held in very high-regard for many years.

Andrew, who was originally from Northern, NY, now lives with his three young children in Verona, NY. Days and nights away from the office are spent keeping very active outdoors, working hard, playing harder, and generally living the good life. Andrew is a competitive cyclist and an avid hiker, biker, and skier who really loves the wealth of outdoor exercise and recreational opportunities our region offers.

Andrew and his children very much enjoy their laid back and unplugged lifestyle, and being a part of the Bouton Physical Therapy team and the local community.

Jeffrey

Jeffrey A. Brown, PTA

Jeff graduated from Onondaga Community College in 1999 with an Associates degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant. He has 16 years experience and has been with Bouton Physical Therapy for 11 years. Along with his years of experience treating patients, he has taken many continuing education courses including McKenzie, Mulligan, PNF, recent advances in shoulder and knee rehabilitation, clinical geriatric orthopedics and many more. He is passionate about his career and enjoys the challenges of improving people's quality of life.

Jeff resides in Rome with his wife Allison. They have 4 children ages 15-20. In his free time he enjoys being with family, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, and hunting.
